East Central Regional Rail Trail

Challenge

The client needed a multi-use trail and pedestrian bridge across SR 406 (Garden Street) in downtown Titusville.

Client City of Titusville
Location Titusville, FL
Contract Value $3,035,000
Schedule Nov 2015 - Apr 2016

Solution

We built a 12' wide asphalt trail on the existing railroad bed, including a pedestrian bridge and all necessary drainage, landscaping, pavement markings, and signage.

By leveraging the design-build delivery method, we completed this project on time and saved the city time and money. Meanwhile, we provided a safe pedestrian crossing at Garden Street. Since our team self-performed this project, we were able to maintain control of the schedule and manage the project costs more effectively.

Result

We delivered this public project on schedule with minimal impact to the public and other project stakeholders. The project resulted in a safe way for pedestrians to cross a busy roadway and eliminated the need for pedestrians to cross at street level, where the dangers are much greater.
