Summerlin Avenue Improvements – Phase 1
Gibbs & Register was the selected contractor for the construction to replace the nearly 80-year-old aging infrastructure along Summerlin Avenue in downtown Orlando. The work will take place in two-block sections with temporary traffic disruptions along the project route.

Solution
The project includes the installation of approximately 1.25 miles of new water mains, the addition of fire hydrants and the update of critical valves to improve fire safety and system dependability.
Result
This project modernizes OUC's potable water system and the City of Orlando's sanitary sewer and stormwater systems to enhance service reliability, streamline safety systems and improve quality of life for residents through infrastructure upgrades. Beyond utility upgrades, the project includes a complete restoration of the roadways, enhanced pedestrian safety and improved streetscapes.
